Beef Goulash
Ingredients
- 1 onion - diced
- 1T oil
- 400g beef - cubed
- 400g tin tomato soup
- ½ cup beef stock
- 1T soy sauce
- 1T brown sugar
- 1t curry powder
- 1t mixed herbs
- 1T white sugar
- 1T flour
- 2 cups rice
- 3 cups green beans
Method
In a large saucepan, cook the onion in the oil for 4-5 mins. Add the diced beef and brown for 4-5 mins.
Add the tomato soup, beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, curry powder, mixed herbs and white sugar to the saucepan.
Cover and allow to simmer for at least 30 mins - if using a casserole type meat, allow to simmer for at least 1 hour.
Combine the flour with a small amount of water to form a runny paste, add to the saucepan and stir, allow to boil for 1-2 mins to thicken the juices. Repeat if the sauce needs to thicken up some more.
Cook the rice according to packet directions.
Steam the green beans.
Serve.
