Macedonian Gulash Soup
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper
- 1 large onion
- 800g diced beef
- 5 tsp smoked paprika
- 3 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
- 2 carrots, peeled and diced
- 1 stem of diced celery
- 200 ml red wine
- 1.5l water
Method
Cook beef and onion in the olive oil; add the red wine, salt and pepper, smoked paprika; after a few minutes add the potato, carrot, celery and water and cook over a low heat for 2-3 hours until the meat is tender
Cook’s Note: Top with sour cream or natural yoghurt and serve with your favourite bread
