Slow Cooker Tamarillo Beef Casserole
Ingredients
- 1 kg beef chuck or blade steak, trimmed of fat and cut into small chunks
- 1 cup red wine
- 1 x 400gm tin of crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 onion, thinly chopped
- 2 peeled and sliced carrots
- 1 cup chopped portobello or whole button mushrooms
- ½ red capsicum, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- ½ cup tomato sauce
- 3 tamarillos, peeled and chopped
- 1 cup beef stock
- 1 tablespoon Cajun spice
- Salt and pepper
Method
Place all ingredients into a slow cooker. Cook on low for 6 hours or until beef is tender. Thicken with cornflour if desired.
