Southern Cheese Rolls
Ingredients
500 grams mild cheese
1 packet onion soup mix
1 packet thinly sliced white bread
½ cup boiling water
Method
Grate cheese into a large bowl.
Add onion soup mix, toss together to coat the cheese.
Add boiling water 1 tablespoon at a time, mixing with a spatula until the cheese has softened and is spreadable.
Lay bread slices on a board 6 at a time. Spread with cheese mixture.
Fold 1/3 of the bread and cheese over twice to make a cheese roll. Press lightly.
Repeat with remaining bread and cheese to make 18-20 rolls.
Brush cheese rolls with melted butter. Place under a grill until golden brown on each side.
Serve with more butter !
