Wheat (gothambu) Kanji

Ingredients

3/4 cup bulghur wheat

1/4 cup white long grained rice

1 tsp. pepper

2 tsp. salt

5cm piece of cinnamon

4 cardomon pods

6-8 pieces of chicken small-medium pieces (bone-in is better)

1 bulb garlic 

1.5cm piece of ginger

6 cups of water 1 cup of coconut cream  

Method

• Add all the ingredients in a rice cooker or pressure cooker with 5 cups of water and the 1 cup of coconut cream.

• Cook until the rice and chicken are cooked (pressure cooked for approx. 10 minutes)

• Add 1 cup of water after the kanji has cooked at the end to get a porridge-like consistency.
