British conductor Leo Hussain leads the Auckland Philharmonia in a richly varied programme, opening with Tchaikovsky’s 'Mozartiana', his tender tribute to the composer he revered. The evening also features Elena Kats-Chernin’s 'Re-inventions (after Bach)', reimagined with dazzling flair by recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, Purcell’s Three Consorts in George Benjamin’s mesmerising transcription, and culminates in Mozart’s crowning symphonic achievement: the mighty 'Jupiter'.
