The NZTrio—featuring soloists Amalia Hall on violin, Matthias Balzat on cello, and Somi Kim on piano—performs in the "Hypnotique", which is centred around a chamber arrangement of Arnold Schönberg’s Verklärte Nacht. This concert presents a varied repertoire executed by the prominent New Zealand-based chamber group.
The programme includes Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Trio in D minor Op 120, Elena Kats-Chernin’s Calliope Dreaming, and Lyell Cresswell's Moto perpetuo. Alongside these pieces, Pascal Le Boeuf contributes his original composition Obliquely Wrecked and provides the arrangement for Schönberg's work.
