Wellington based pianist and composer Mark Donlon and New York trumpeter Alex Sipiagin are collaborating for two concerts for the upcoming Wellington Jazz Festival. Their partnership has also resulted in a new album, Between Moons, which in part is a tribute to Canadian trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, and Mark’s former teacher the British pianist John Taylor. Sipiagin has already started his New Zealand concerts as part of Rodger Fox’s Jazz Gala tour of the country.
