Haydn Rawstron began his Lansdown Festival of Narropera after the 2011 earthquakes destroyed most of the central Christchurch performance spaces. He turned his home Lansdown House and Garden into a summer opera venue. This summer’s festival ends with Weber’s once popular opera Der Freischütz performed as a narrated opera starring Soprano Dorothee Jansen.
