19-year-old pianist Lixin Zhang has won 2nd prize in the 2021 Gina Bachauer International Young Artists Piano Competition.
Lixin was the only competitor from Australasia to qualify for the competition, which usually takes place in Salt Lake City. This time, due to Covid-19 restrictions, the competition took place through video recordings, with all performances and events streamed online.
Upbeat asked Lixin what it was like to take part in this prestigious competition.
