Up to 300 people from refugee camps across Nauru staged a peaceful protest on Wednesday afternoon .
The protest was held at the Nibok camp on the western side of the island, as plain-clothes police and authorities looked on.
The action came one week after Nauruan police arrested 183 people during protests about treatment at the Australian-led programme.
The government earlier distributed notices saying groups of three or more which do not disperse within 15 minutes could be arrested and face charges carrying penalties of up to three years in jail.
