Fiji's Ministry of Health and Medical Services has advised the general public to focus efforts on reducing the risks of Chikungunya circulation in the country.
This follows laboratory confirmation of an imported case of Chikungunya virus.
Chikungunya has evolved and progressively circulated among neighbouring Pacific Island countries since last year.
The Ministry has been monitoring the Chikungunya situation in the region very closely in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and the Secretariat of the Pacific Community.
