A tropical cyclone alert has been issued for Fiji's Lau group.
The Fiji Met Service says Cyclone Ula is about 900 kilomtres east of the Lau group and moving towards it at about 13 kilometres an hour.
The category 3 system is on track to bring damaging gale force winds by Sunday.
From Saturday night the Lau group can expect rain, thunderstorms and heavy swells.
