Two police officers in Fiji have been suspended in relation to the death of a man last week.
Josua Lalauvaki died in a Suva hospital last Thursday, nearly a month after he was allegedly beaten by police officers outside a Suva nightclub.
Mr Lalauvaki's father, Ilaisia Tagiratu, told the Fiji Sun the injuries sustained by his son resembled those of a fatal car crash.
Fiji's police commissioner, Sitiveni Qiliho, today confirmed he had ordered the suspension of two constables without pay while investigations continue.
The Fiji Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Commission says it will also conduct an investigation.
