Still recovering from the wrath of last year's Super Typhoon Yutu, the Northern Marianas has been warned to brace itself for more this cyclone season.

The National Weather Service in Guam said the CNMI can expect one or two typhoons this year.
A prediction guide from the service projects a 50 percent chance of a more active than normal season.
The prediction means this year's typhoon season could be similar to the last, which saw Tinian and Saipan ravaged by Yutu in October and Rota crippled by Typhoon Mangkhut in September.
The report also says there is a 40-percent chance of a normal season and a 10-percent chance of a less active season.
Over $US135 million in public assistance funds to the CNMI government has been committed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency to help defray the costs and other losses from Yutu.
