The draw has been made for the next round of the world sevens, which will take place in Singapore at the end of January.

After two rounds in Dubai and Cape Town, Fiji, South Africa and New Zealand all have 38 points in the men's standings.

Australia and New Zealand lead the women's ranks, both on 32 points, ahead of Japan on 28.

For Singapore, on the men's side, Fiji has drawn South Africa, Great Britain and Spain in pool A.

Pool B comprises Argentina, France, New Zealand and Australia.

The Fijiana Sevens will face Australia, the US and Japan in pool A in Singapore.

New Zealand, France, Canada and Great Britain make up the women's pool B.

Fiji coach Osea Kolinisau told FBC they were happy with the performance against France in Cape Town's third-place playoff, but they're disappointed not to have gone further.

"This format is tough and we try to stay consistent. We weren't as consistent as we wanted to be, but I'm happy we came out with the points in this last game."

Meanwhile, Samoa and Tonga will try and make their way up the men's sevens ranks from the third-tier competition next month.

Samoa's women's team is also set to compete for promotion from the third tier.

SVNS 3 will take place in Dubai from 17-18 January, with the top two men's and women's teams out of that tournament making it up to SVNS 2, which starts in February.
