The late Ms Simone, or Eunice Waymon according to her birth certificate, is the subject of a new documentary from New York director Jeff Lieberman.
The Amazing Nina Simone, is the second documentary of its kind to be released this year, following What Happened, Miss Simone, released in June.
Lieberman's film charts the incredible career of the songstress and musician paying particular attention to her involvement in the American Civil Rights movement.
Jeff joins Trevor Reekie on the line to talk about the indomitable force of Simone and her voice.
