Twenty years ago, Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain published Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk. The result of interviews and quotes from some of punk music’s main players, the book timelines the chronology of New York’s punk explosion from 1976 through to its expiration in 1979.
Legs McNeil was also the co-founder of Punk Magazine, an influential title during the punk era. Legs speaks with Trevor Reekie about how the small but influential New York punk scene shattered and shaped music history.
