Greyhounds As Pets is a charity organisation dedicated to finding homes for retired racing greyhounds.
They've been operating for 18 years and at this point they've found homes for more than 4000 dogs.
This Sunday they're hosting their first ever adoption day event in Wellington.
They'll be at Boom Rock Dogs' 'Fox Cottage' in Ohariu Valley from 10am. Simultaneously another event will be held in Auckland at The Dogs Den in Silverdale.
Dawn Glover is the events and volunteer coordinator for Greyhounds as Pets, and a greyhound adoptee herself.
