Critter of the Week: Tofu of the woods | Giant puffball

You could mistake this week's critter, the giant puffball (Calvatia gigantea), for a soccer ball. The giant fungus can grow into a puffy white ball up to 50 cm in diameter! Giant puffballs are also edible. Their white colour, smooth texture and nutty taste have earned them the nickname 'tofu of the woods'.
