For 40 years, country music fans from all over the country have descended on Gore for a celebration of country music, the New Zealand Gold Guitar Awards. What started as a humble gathering with just 40 entries in 1973, has turned into one of the premier music competitions in the country. This year there are a record 761 entrants.
