The Artists Cinema is a collection of short films commissioned to bring visual artists’ work into cinemas in subversive and playful ways. Four of the works are by New Zealand artists curated by Mark Williams with support from Creative New Zealand. The film is screening as part the International Film Festival in Auckland and Wellington.

Voodoo Dog by Gray Nicol. Like a bad omen, the artist’s work begins to prefigure more serious real life events. “I’ve got to be a bit more careful with these sculptures.”

Between Worlds by Philip Dadson. A single boat prow navigates through a series of landscapes, charting the interconnectedness of time, people and space.
