A court has heard how the killer of a Taranaki grandfather cried out "he'd got what he deserved" and kicked him while he lay dying. Maurice John Riddle was shot on his farm in February last year after going to pick up overdue rent. Reporter Robin Martin was in the High Court at New Plymouth for his killer's sentencing.
