Waikato Chamber of Commerce CEO Chris Simpson, Economist & Author Shamubeel Eaqub, and JustSpeak spokesperson & Children's advocate Julia Whaipooti join Lisa Owen in the studio to discuss today's Budget announcement.
Ms Whaipooti said she would give the Budget a 7.5 out of 10 and felt heartened by the symbolism of heading in a wellbeing direction.
She said $1.9b in mental health was a "significant boost".
Mr Simpson scored it a "solid five" out of 10 and said it wasn't transformational.
"It just seemed like a normal Budget," he said.
"Bill English probably could have delivered this Budget," Mr Simpson said.
Mr Eaqub gave it eight out 10 and said this was the one year they could do things aligned to their position without the threat of an election looming.
