The racing industry says it has reached crisis point, but leaders are not happy with how the Government is proposing to fix things.
The country's three main racing codes; New Zealand Thoroughbred Racing, Harness Racing New Zealand and Greyhound Racing New Zealand made submissions to a Select Committee on proposed reforms.
The $1.6 billion industry says the changes give the Racing Minister Winston Peters too much influence over the commercial entities.
