It's the local MP versus the mayor - disagreement has broken out on social media over whether Napier is in the grip of a crime wave.
Napier Mayor Kirsten Wise is calling for more police on the ground following recent gang related violence, saying some people do not feel safe.
But electorate MP and Minister Stuart Nash has fired back on social media calling "BS" on comments made in support of the Mayor.
