Surf Lifeguards rescue 26 people over North Island on weekend
One man was swept off the rocks North of Bethells beach around 7:30pm last night, two others managed to get the injured and unconscious fisherman back on the rocks and one of them made it back to the beach to alert lifeguards. But with fading light and rough seas it wasn't possible to get an inflatable rescue boat close enough to the blow hole where the men where. Surf Life Saving New Zealand, Operations Manager Northern Region James Lea who was involved in the rescue, spoke to Lisa Owen.
