What does it take to get a full driving license?

We all know someone who's been sitting on their restricted license for years or perhaps struggling to get a test slot. The Government says scraping the second practical test needed to get a full license will make the process "less time consuming and more efficient" - proposing the first major changes to the license system in 14 years. It's also planning to reduce the number of eye tests required and introducing tougher sanctions for drivers who commit traffic offences while on their learner or restricted license.
