Discover Waitomo: increased funding keeps jobs, knowledge

A government funding boost for Discover Waitomo will help keep dozens of people in jobs and retain knowledge vital to the business and area. Discover Waitomo and the country's 31 regional tourism organisations are the first to receive money from a government fund to help the sector recover from Covid-19 disruption. Discover Waitomo's been given a two million dollar payment, with another two million dollar loan available for the following year. The chief executive of Tourism holdings, which owns Discover Waitomo, Grant Webster, spoke to reporter Nita Blake-Persen - she asked him how many jobs would be saved by the funding.
