Well that's exactly what's happening at Hastings Boys High, where Year 13 students will be involved in all aspects of building a three bedroom house for Kainga Ora while at school this year As well as gaining them NCEA credits, the programme gives them a head start in the industry and valuable work experience. Head of the technology department, Salla Delport, is behind the ambitious Hastings Boys High Building Academy. Nathan Rarere asked him how it came about.
