Willis: National's ideas to prevent teachers' strikes in future
Most Year 12s in the South Island will have no school today, thanks to a rolling teachers' strike that's making it's way up North from tomorrow. More than 20,000 secondary school teachers will take industrial action across the motu until June 8. This comes as the union and Government remain in a months-long deadlock over pay and conditions. The National party has been vocal about the curriculum and attendance data, but remains relatively quiet about teachers' pay and conditions. Joining Nathan Rarere is Deputy leader Nicola Willis.
