Āwhā is about resilience, encouraging people that no matter how hard the storm is on the inside, it will pass and the sun will shine again, and you will grow from it.
In 2020, Kiko released the waiata, Ka Puta, which plays on a similar visual narrative to which Āwhā is the prequel.
