IPCA reports finds police failed in duty of care

From Midday Report, 12:11 pm on 22 April 2021

The Independent Police Conduct Authority has found officers failed in their duty of care in 2019, when a man was left in custody while unconscious, rather than being taken to the hospital.

The man was thought to be influenced by drugs, but despite his condition, was taken to a Police custody unit.

The Authority's Chair, Judge Colin Doherty, spoke to Meriana Johnsen.
