Response to Chch scrap metal fire slowed by failing fire trucks

Potentially toxic smoke is still billowing from a fire at a scrap metal yard in the Christchurch suburb of Woolston.

Professional Firefighters Union says two trucks failing on site caused delays and put firefighters in danger.

The union's vice president Joe Stanley told Māni Dunlop the problems meant the fire grew.
