Closure for Pike River Families finally within grasp
Pike River Mine families are confident they will see some action within the first 100 days of the new government. Last week, a cross-party agreement for the re-entry of the mine was announced, alongside promises a minister will be put in charge of the attempt to retrieve the remains of the 29 killed. The families expressed their grief and hopes for the future at a concert at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington at the weekend.
