Cyclone Gita: Fiji narrowly misses direct hit

Fiji has escaped a direct hit by tropical cyclone Gita. The southern island group of Ono-i-Lau and Vatoa - about halfway between Tonga and Fiji - were the closest to the category 4 storm, as it moved west. The extent of any damage to those outer islands isn't clear yet, as communications were lost. Hannah Butler is a New Zealander working for the Red Cross at its Pacific regional headquarters in Suva. She has been monitoring Cyclone Gita as it made landfall across southern Fiji, and joins Guyon Espiner with the latest.
