Residents in West Otago are worried they may soon be without an after hours emergency service, leaving the community vulnerable. Staff at West Otago Health, a medical centre in Tapanui, have been told the service might have to be shut due to a lack of funding. And while the Southern District Health Board denies making any funding changes, it admits transitional funding has run out.
