There have been significant developments in the meth testing story this morning with the Housing Minister Phil Twyford telling Morning Report he is now apologising to state house tenants needlessly evicted from their homes. He also said he'll consider whether or not compensation should be paid tenants needlessly evicted from their homes. The situation came to a head after the government's chief science advisor announced the country has been embroiled in a moral panic over meth contamination. RNZ political reporter Benedict Collins has covered this story extensively uncovering the fact that Housing New Zealand ignored repeated warnings from health officials.
