Covid-19: CDC loosens mask rules further for vaccinated

From Morning Report, 8:09 am on 14 May 2021

In the United States, fully-vaccinated people are now no longer required to wear masks or practice physical distancing indoors or outdoors - except under certain circumstances.

The director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Rochelle Walensky, made the announcment within the last couple of hours during a White House Covid-19 briefing.

It follows a relaxing of the rules by President Joe Biden a fortnight ago, when he told Americans they no longer needed to wear masks outside as long as they were vaccinated.
