In the United States, fully-vaccinated people are now no longer required to wear masks or practice physical distancing indoors or outdoors - except under certain circumstances.
The director of the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Rochelle Walensky, made the announcment within the last couple of hours during a White House Covid-19 briefing.
It follows a relaxing of the rules by President Joe Biden a fortnight ago, when he told Americans they no longer needed to wear masks outside as long as they were vaccinated.
