The Government wants to see 20,000 fewer victims of assaults, robberies and sexual crimes by 2029.
The target is one of the more ambitious of the nine pledges announced by Christopher Luxon on Monday.
It's also one of the most difficult to realise, according to Ruth Money, an independent victim advocate.
