Remix The Orchestra 2012

The poster for the Remix the Orchestra concert that took place at the Auckland Town Hall on 31 May 2012 - an image of Tupac Shakur playing a violin - speaks volumes about the origins of the project. Now in its fifth year, Remix the Orchestra joins players from the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra with Auckland youth to collaborate on original music, matching classical music with beats and rhymes. The Remix concert saw an 80-piece orchestra back hip hop musicians like Ermehn, Tyree, DJ CXL and Deceptikonz's Frisko, as well as past participants from the project.
