About a year ago a young Los Angeleno music engineer, Josh Marcy, came across a music clip captioned “Mindblowing Psychedelia from Thailand”.
It instigated a journey that took him to a remote Thai village hundreds of kilometers away from Bangkok to record the creators of that music, Khun Narin’s Electric Phin Band, playing through their homemade mobile sound system in a field.
Trevor Reekie talks to Josh Marcy about this gem of a recording.
