Arthur Russell
Arthur Russell was a pioneering dance, pop and orchestra composer who died of HIV/AIDS in relative obscurity back in 1992, but thanks to a series of compilations of Arthur’s work, the Matt Woolf documentary Wild Combination, and a detailed biography his audience is growing.
With the release of a new tribute album Red, Hot, and Arthur Russell, Emma Smith spoke with Tim Lawrence, Professor of Cultural Studies at The University of East London and author of Arthur Russell biography Hold Onto Your Dreams about the life and work of Arthur Russell.
