The Mahal name is a familiar one in local music circles. Grammy-winner and blues veteran Taj Mahal is father to Ahmen, better known as Imon Starr, and daughters Zoe Moon and Deva Mahal.
New York-based Deva is back in New Zealand and on her quick trip home she’s been on stage with her siblings, and squeezes in a night with her old musical pals, Electric Wire Hustle. Yadana Saw talks musical families with Deva and EWH's Mara TK, son of psych-blues guitarist, Billy TK.
