Wellington-born electronic musician Olly Pemberton began releasing tracks under the name Fis in 2012 via drum & bass label Samurai Horo. Despite the association, Fis’ productions have never sounded much like D&B, and he was soon working with Brooklyn label Tri Angle and London’s Loopy.
