Parson James, the New York singer whose incredible back story is a humbling triumph against marginalisation, returns to New Zealand to headline The Big Gay Out - an annual music event within the Auckland Pride Festival.
Following that Randa - winner of the Critic's Choice Award at the 2014 NZ Music Awards - headlines The New Normal, another Pride Festival event. (The New Normal is a mini music festival at at The Golden Dawn consisting entirely of LGBTQI performers.)
RNZ Music puts these two very different artists in a room together. They chose to play for each other works they've never performed before - and despite growing up worlds apart, it was heartwarming how quickly and how well they bonded.
