The Silver Scroll songwriting awards take place tonight at Auckland’s Spark Arena. Watch the livestream or follow the liveblog below to see all tonight’s performances and find out who the winners are.
The Silver Scrolls will be hosted this year by Madeleine Sami and will include the presentation of five different awards:
- The Silver Scroll, recognising outstanding achievement in the craft of songwriting - See the finalists
- APRA Maioha Award, celebrating exceptional waiata featuring te reo Māori - See the finalists
- SOUNZ Contemporary Award, celebrating excellence in contemporary composition - See the finalists
- APRA Best Original Music in a Feature Film Award - See the finalists
- APRA Best Original Music in a Series Award - See the finalists
The ceremony includes musical performances by some of NZ’s top musicians, as selected by Kiwi jazz legend Nathan Haines, who’s this year’s Musical Director.
It's a Silver Scroll tradition that each of the finalist and winner songs be reinterpreted and performed by a totally different group of musicians, all of whom are kept under wraps until they take the stage. Stay tuned here to see them all.
