The Stebbing’s recording and music production business has been a part of Aotearoa’s musical landscape since 1946.
From the days of 78-rpm shellac recording to the age of the CD, and the digital download, Eldred Stebbing and his wife and sons have played a vital role. The Stebbing and Zodiac record labels, established by Eldred Stebbing, includes a remarkable catalogue of local recordings that have contributed to the foundation for the Recording Industry, as we know it today.
A new book called “Wired For Sound – The Stebbing History of New Zealand Music”, curated and written by Grant Gillanders & Robyn Welsh tells the story of how determination, resourcefulness and creativity combined to create an enduring Kiwi success story.
