Featuring the sexy, smoky vocals of Tyra Hammond and a talented crew of musicians, Opensouls burn up the stage with songs from the 'Standing In The Rain' album, the genesis of which was heavily influenced by late-50s, early-60s British and American R'n'B.
Radio New Zealand recorded this set live at the Kings Arms in Auckland on the final night of the 'Standing In The Rain Tour' in October 2009.
The songs are: 'Turn It Up', 'Walk Away (Warm Love)', 'Prayer', Medley: Optimist/ Latin Joint/ What Do You Do? (Drum Break)/ Whatever/ Moving On/ Sweet Love, 'Falling In', 'Leave The Light On', 'In Your Hand's, 'Spend Some Time', 'Hold You Close'.
Opensouls was founded in 2001 by core member and guitarist Jeremy Toy who later went on to produce Hollie Smith’s first album. The band had nearly a dozen changing members during the decade and most of them went on to become key figures in the local music scene.
