From Nine To Noon, 10:07 am on 10 May 2017

Bill Binney the 'original' NSA whistle-blower, resigned from the agency in October 2001, after 30 years working as one of their best analysts. He talks to Kathryn Ryan about how he and a small team created 'Thin Thread', a state of the art surveillance programme which, he says, could have detected the 9/11 attacks and prevented them. The documentary about this called 'A Good American' screens as part of the Doc Edge International Film Festival from 10-21st May in Wellington, and 24th May - 5th June in Auckland.
